The bed backrest is a great alternative if you need to sleep sitting slightly upright or upright when a pillow or 2 just aren't enough or a full on electric powered bed is out of budget. There are a few different ones on the market you have your manual backrest as you can see in picture 1, your armchair style backrest in picture 2 and you also have your powered backrest in picture 3. All have there own uses and advantages the manual one is lightweight and easy to take with you if your going away for a few nights, It also has 5 different angles you can rest it on as well as horizontal, The armchair style I must say is more like a laze about very comfy and a good position whilst remaining in bed and your powered backrest is also great if you have limited movement and struggle to lift things it will rise and recline at the touch of a button, Although the powered option will have some weight to it so its not as easy to transport about it can be done if needed.
