The Pride Jazzy is what we call a power chair, The first is a Jazzy Select which has 4 wheels which is driven by the front 2 wheels and it also has 2 anti tip wheels on the front for that extra stability, This Jazzy is great for around the house with an occasional use outdoors. It has a good turning circle but as it is front wheel drive it does pivot so you do need that little bit more room. The joy stick on this Jazzy is a nice one to use although I would say you have to be very precise to avoid snaking, It also has a comfy captains seat which you can rotate around and adjust the angle of the backrest and the arms also lift up and down to make it easier for side transfers.
The second is the Jazzy Select 6, This power chair is very good as it has 6 wheels and is driven by the 2 middle so it turn around on it's own axis, A very nice looking power chair again the joystick is much the same as the select and also the seat very comfy and a lot more stable.
Third is the Jazzy Select 6 Ultra which is the same as the Select 6 but has a seat raiser which is great for around the house to reach up and to the back of your kitchen counters if you need to. The stability of the Select 6 & the Select 6 Ultra is very good as it has 6 wheel's and a tru active suspension as well, Also with these 2 they can do a bit more outdoors if needed to. The joystick is a lot more forgiving on the Select 6 Ultra which in my opinion makes it easier to use.
With all 3 of these power chairs they are a 4MPH and can cover a distance up to around 12 -15 miles on a single charge depending on your terrain.
I find the Jazzy Select range the best in its field and always feel confident trying them out. If you have any questions please ask, Many thanks.
Charging
When charging your power chair you should be aiming to charge it for around 8-10 hours (overnight is a good time) always remember to charge the power chair after every time you use it. If you will not be using you're scooter for a period of time in winter for example we strongly recommend you charge you'r scooter at least once a week to keep the battery's topped up, this can help prolong the life of you're batteries
Servicing
Currently servicing is not required in the UK on power chairs however we always recommend that you try to get your power chair serviced once a year the same as you would do with a car, this can help make sure everything is running smoothly and possibly alert you if anything may need repair or replacement this can be done at most local Mobility Shops, This should cost around £55.00-£85.00 and take just a few hours to complete.
Insurance
Insurance on power chairs is not required by law, however we feel it is worthwhile to insure any power chair for peace of mind. Not only can you cover yourself if you'r power chair is lost stolen or damaged, but many policies come with Public Liability also should you be involved in an incident with a third party.
Many insurance companies also offer a Recovery/Breakdown service as well as Extended Warranties.
Pricing Guide
We have researched this power chair both in many UK showrooms and online and have found this power chair will retail in store for between £1500 and £2400.
The scooter can be found online for anywhere between £1250 and £2400.
