The Pride Colt NINE, It's a scooter which does what it says on the tin so to speak, it has a top speed of 4MPH, however if i honest I think that it actually really does around 3MPH, so it is a bit slow compared to other 4mph scooters and struggles with some gradients. The Colt Nine has Solid tyres with only a seat post suspension for comfort and I personally feel it needs more to offer a comfortable ride. It has a range of around 13-15 miles which makes this a good scooter for going to your local shopping centre and doing shopping or going out to see friends or family, but you may want to make sure the floor surface to be as smooth as possible as it really isn't the most comfortable of rides.
The Colt NINE only comes in candy apple red, it comes with a very nice easy to use Delta Handlebar, front curb light, 360 degree rotating seat with lifting armrests, the seat is also able to slide back and forward for a bit of extra legroom or you can move yourself closer to the tiller if need be. The Colt NINE has a good maximum weight capacity of 23 stone though which is good amount for the size of the scooter.
Now although it will come apart in the same way as a GoGo boot scooter its not advisable to do this on a daily basis as the parts are much heavier and it does take up more room in your car.
Now don't let me put you off buying this scooter as it is a good budget scooter for starting out and they are very reliable robust and durable, also the Colt Nine easy to work with should any problem's arise so labour costs should be lower to.
Charging
When charging your scooter you should be aiming to charge it for around 8-10 hours (overnight is a good time) always remember to charge the scooter after every time you use it. If you will not be using you're scooter for a period of time in winter for example we strongly recommend you charge you're scooter at least once a week to keep the battery's topped up, this can help prolong the life of you're batterys
Servicing
Currently servicing is not required in the UK on Mobility Scooters however we always recommend that you try to get your scooter serviced once a year the same as you would do with a car, this can help make sure everything is running smoothly and possibly alert you if anything may need repair or replacement this can be done at most local Mobility Shops, should cost around £50.00-£75.00 and take just a few hours to complete.
Insurance
Insurance on mobility scooters is not required by law, however we feel it is worthwhile to insure any scooter for peace of mind. Not only can you cover yourself if you're scooter is lost stolen or damaged, but many policies come with Public Liability also should you be involved in an incident with a third party.
Many insurance companies also offer a Recovery/Breakdown service as well as Extended Warranties.
Pricing Guide
We have researched this scooter both in many UK showrooms and online and have found this scooter will retail in store for between £800 and £1100.
The scooter can be found online for anywhere between £600 and £1200.
