REVIEW
If your wanting a mobility scooter to go that little bit further than most then the the Pride Colt Executive is the scooter for you, With its ground clearance of 133mm (5.25") and its 8MPH motor which has a switch to make it in to a 4MPH when your in public areas and on footpaths there are not many places the Colt Executive can't go where you would go if you was walking. Now being an 8MPH it does need road tax (see below for more info). It has a delta shaped handle bar, Full lighting system (front lights, rear lights, indicators, hazard lights and a brake light), LCD display which tell you your battery charge, speed, the temperature, how many miles you have done and a trip mileage to. It also has a very comfy captains seat which rotates 360 degrees, arm rests that lift up and down ant you can move the seat back and forward for that extra bit of comfort. The Colt Executive comes with full suspension which definitely helps with it being solid tyres all round. You should be getting up to a distance of 30 miles depending on your terrain and a maximum user weight of 28.5 stone (181kg).
The ride on the Executive is a pure delight, If your planning on taking the dogs to the country side or going down the fields to feed the horses or just some general rough terrain then the Colt Executive is for you.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask, Many thanks.
Charging
When charging your scooter you should be aiming to charge it for around 8-10 hours (overnight is a good time) always remember to charge the scooter after every time you use it. If you will not be using you're scooter for a period of time in winter for example we strongly recommend you charge you're scooter at least once a week to keep the battery's topped up, this can help prolong the life of you're batteries.
Servicing
Currently servicing is not required in the UK on Mobility Scooters however we always recommend that you try to get your scooter serviced once a year the same as you would do with a car, this can help make sure everything is running smoothly and possibly alert you if anything may need repair or replacement this can be done at most local Mobility Shops, should cost around £50.00-£75.00 and take just a few hours to complete.
Insurance
Insurance on mobility scooters is not required by law, however we feel it is worthwhile to insure any scooter for peace of mind. Not only can you cover yourself if you're scooter is lost stolen or damaged, but many policies come with Public Liability also should you be involved in an incident with a third party.
Many insurance companies also offer a Recovery/Breakdown service as well as Extended Warranties.
Pricing Guide
We have researched this scooter both in many UK showrooms and online and have found this scooter will retail in store for between £900 and £1500.
The scooter can be found online for anywhere between £800 and £1400.
