REVIEW
The Pride LC101 is a great entry level powered lift chair very comfy while very affordable, you shouldn't let the low price make you think this is a cheap chair. The LC101 is a single motor armchair which means that as you lift up your leg rest your back rest reclines all in one fluent motion. The Pride LC101 has a maximum weight capacity 23 stone which is great for the price. The LC101 comes with a choice of 3 different back styles first you have a button back second you have a T-back and third is a standard plain back with a crease.
It is always advisable to try these chairs out to see if they have the right level comfort for you before you commit to buying, you're local Mobility shop will likely have several models in stock that you can try.
The LC101 has a very smooth lift and recline action with no jerkiness or jolting, and to fully recline you're chair you only have to have an 18" gap from the back of the chair to the wall.
The LC101 comes in 5 different colour choices which are- Burgandy, Aqua, Spruce, Almondine and Oat. The Almondine and Oat are the 2 most popular as they are very neutral colours and fit in with most décor.
Power Requirements
The power comes from your normal plug socket which goes into a transformer on the chair cable then into your chair. Should you encounter a power cut there is a back up battery slot on the transformer which usually takes 2 X 9V batteries, Ask your dealer when they set up your chair about this. Some manufacturers fit these batteries for you but some don't well worth getting these fitted as you don't want to be fully reclined then the power goes. The batteries will give you enough power to get to the seating position and will go very slow as if the chair is struggling once used replace the batteries and it's a good idea to change at least once a year as well.
Safety Features
Most handsets have a little key that can disable the armchair which is good for if you have any young children that you don't want using the chair. Another feature on most chairs is that they have an automatic cut out of the chair if they are being used for a long period eg if your going up down up down for a few or more minutes the chair will cut out usually for around 10-15 minutes while it cools down.
Obstructions
When your using your chair its a good idea to be aware of things falling under the leg rest or if you have the chair to close to a wall behind it could be damaging to the actuator of the chair and could break your things as well. Also you MUST be aware if you have pets as they always want to go under the chair for a sniff while your legs are up or while your chair is raised so make sure they are out of the way before lowering your chair and feet, The chair could cause damage to your pets or worse.
Pricing Guide
We have researched this Armchair both in many UK showrooms and online and have found this Armchair will retail in store for between £350 and £600.
The Armchair can be found online for anywhere between £300 and £650.
