The Sterling Pearl is a 4MPH Travel/Boot Scooter, and is the bigger bother of the Sterling Little Gem, offering more leg room and a slightly more comfortable ride as it has bigger wheels and a longer wheelbase, the Pearl has 12Ah batteries that will give a range of around 4-6 miles per charge, the battery box can be removed so you can charge it while not on the scooter which is handy if you primarily keep the scooter in you're car. It comes apart to be put in the boot of a car quite easily, however it's not as simple and easy to take apart as the Pride GoGo Range.
The seat on the Pearl fold's down to be very small which is good for storage or when taking with you in the car and can rotate 360degrees to aid getting on and off the scooter, the seat is a little better than the standard seat fitted to the Little Gem but it is still lacking a little in comfort, but is not bad on shorter journeys.
As with most Travel/Boot Scooters the Pearl features solid tyres, so you wont get any punctures which is great peace of mind, however you may find it doesn't help the ride quality which can be a little bumpy on rough surfaces, nonetheless many people use them for longer journey's around town and have no problems at all.
In my opinion this scooter is best suited to shopping centre's and short footpath journeys as well as anywhere with smooth ground.
Overall I would say the Sterling Pearl is a good Travel/Boot Scooter nothing but it will do its job well and is very reliable without problems.
The Pearl is available in Red and Grey.
Charging
When charging your scooter you should be aiming to charge it for around 8-10 hours (overnight is a good time) always remember to charge the scooter after every time you use it. If you will not be using you're scooter for a period of time in winter for example we strongly recommend you charge you're scooter at least once a week to keep the battery's topped up, this can help prolong the life of you're batterys
Servicing
Currently servicing is not required in the UK on Mobility Scooters however we always recommend that you try to get your scooter serviced once a year the same as you would do with a car, this can help make sure everything is running smoothly and possibly alert you if anything may need repair or replacement this can be done at most local Mobility Shops, should cost around £50.00-£75.00 and take just a few hours to complete.
Insurance
Insurance on mobility scooters is not required by law, however we feel it is worthwhile to insure any scooter for peace of mind. Not only can you cover yourself if you're scooter is lost stolen or damaged, but many policies come with Public Liability also should you be involved in an incident with a third party.
Many insurance companies also offer a Recovery/Breakdown service as well as Extended Warranties.
Pricing Guide
We have researched this scooter both in many UK showrooms and online and have found this scooter will retail in store for between £650 and £900.
The scooter can be found online for anywhere between £500 and £900.
